Firefighters tackled a blaze at a house which had spread from a garage.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to Market Place in Hailsham at around 10.20pm on Saturday.
Three fire engines were among emergency vehicles at the scene.
The fire service said no injuries were reported.
It was believed to have been started accidentally.
