Three men have been arrested and a dispersal order issued after antisocial behaviour in the city centre.

Sussex Police authorised the dispersal order in New Road and Pavilion Gardens yesterday afternoon.

The order was in place until 2am today.

Police said the force decided then an extension was not needed.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Three men have been arrested, with two on suspicion of breaching their Community Protection Notices and another on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

"A heightened police presence is expected in New Road and the surrounding areas at this time."
