A motorcyclist involved in a crash has died.
Joshua Southgate, from Broadwater, Worthing, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries after his blue Yamaha collided with a white Ford Transit Connect on the A27 westbound at Clapham, near Worthing, on Monday.
The 20-year-old died on Wednesday, police said.
The van driver, a 62-year-old man from Waterlooville in Hampshire, was uninjured.
A section of the road was closed for several hours to allow for recovery and forensic examination.
Sussex Police have thanked the public for their patience and understanding during the closure.
A force spokesman said: “Anyone who saw what happened, or captured any relevant dash cam or mobile footage, is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting Operation Mildenhall.”
