Three pubs in Sussex have been included in a list of the 100 best in the UK.
The Daily Mail asked big names in the British food and drink industry, including Tom Parker-Bowles, Raymond Blanc, Michel Roux Jr and Prue Leith for their favourite establishments.
The newspaper also used reviews and considered awards when compiling the list.
The Jolly Sportsman, near Lewes, The Gun Inn, Findon, Worthing, and the Brickmaker’s Alehouse, Bexhill, all made the list.
The Brickmaker’s Alehouse was Surrey and Sussex CAMRA’s (Campaign for Real Ale) Pub of the Year in 2024, while The Gun Inn was the overall national winner of the Great British Pub Awards in 2022.
Saturday Kitchen wine expert Olly Smith praised The Jolly Sportsman, which has an abundance of wine options on its menu.
He told the Daily Mail: “With its roaring fire, bucolic garden, fine food and great service, I’m a big fan of a lazy day in this countryside gem.”
