A new health shop has opened.
Holland and Barrett opened the doors to its new store in Brighton last week.
The unit, in Western Road, used to be home to clothing store Select until it closed in 2020.
Before that, it was home to Esprit until 2015.
The company has closed its former site in North Street following the move.
Sustainability is at the heart of the new store, which has been refitted using mild steel, a 100 per cent recyclable material, along with FSC-certified wood. LED-powered lighting has also been designed to be more efficient, reduce energy consumption and cut carbon emissions.
Through Holland and Barrett’s store transformation programme, recycled materials have been used where possible from old stores to minimise waste.
The 1625 sq.ft store is Holland and Barrett’s third store in Brighton and Hove. The other two are located in Churchill Square shopping centre and George Street in Hove.
Store manager Imogen Jones said: “I’m thrilled to be a part of this new store, bringing wellness to Brighton, a city known for its vibrant community and commitment to health.
“The store team has great experience and knowledge within the wellness industry and has been trained to offer expert advice around all things health and wellness. Being a part of this diverse community, we think it’s important that our services are inclusive for all and so I’m proud that our team can assist our customers in multiple languages.
“I look forward to Holland & Barrett becoming an even more valued part of the community and being able to support everyone on their wellness journeys.”
