Albion fans were in good spirits as Brighton continued their unbeaten run this season despite being pegged back by a Nottingham Forest equaliser.

Fans chanted and waved flags as Albion returned to the Amex on the back of two draws on the trot, continuing the streak with a 2-2 draw.

It comes as tensions flared towards the end of the match after Morgan Gibbs-White's dismissal, with Fabian Huerzeler and Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo also being sent off.

Fans from across the world descended on the Amex for the game, including supporters from Ecuador backing Albion's Pervis Estupinan.

Two quick strikes before half time helped Brighton come back from an early deficit thanks to a Chris Wood penalty.

Hometown hero Jack Hinshelwood netted the first before Danny Welbeck added a second from the set piece - his first free kick goal in 70 career strikes.

Tensions flared towards the end of the match when Morgan Gibbs-White was sent off for a second yellow card for a foul on returning Albion forward Joao Pedro.

Seagulls first team coach Andrew Crofts said: “Late on in the game there’s a tackle we feel is a foul. You could tell Joao was hurt, so you’re obviously worried about your player.

“Their player definitely doesn’t mean to hurt Joao but it’s obviously a foul.

“Their bench doesn’t think it’s a foul, we do.

“After it broke out a little bit, I was speaking to one of the players so I didn’t actually see the next part.

“Football is full of emotions and the ref has to do what he has to do.”

Asked about the role of fourth official Taylor, Crofts said: “I didn’t see what his part of that moment was. I think he would have been in communication with the referee to give his opinion.

“He probably felt it was a foul and then the referee has to make the call after.”
