Fire crews battled a blaze which spread to four flats.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Coronation Gardens in Battle today at around 3pm.
Four fire engines were sent to the scene, where the fire had spread to the ground and first floor of the building.

People were asked to avoid the area while crews dealt with the incident.
One person was treated for smoke inhalation. No injuries were reported.
The fire was extinguished at around 4pm and was believed to have been started accidentally in a wheelie bin.
As of 4.15pm, one fire engine remains at the scene.
