A stricken waste firm put in jeopardy after a devastating blaze has been bought out.
The Arun Waste Services site in Climping caught fire on August 30, with flames destroying its buildings and equipment over the course of several days.
Landowners feared the worst with the smouldering blaze risking pollution to local waterways and made the decision to demolish the fire-damaged structures and put the business up for sale.
Now SCS Waste has acquired the company's assets - including some of its staff.
A spokesman for the firm said: "Following the shocking fire in Grevatts Lane, Climping, on August 30, we have agreed with the owner of Arun Waste Services Ltd to purchase the assets of the business."
The deal includes the hiring of two ex-Arun Waste Services Staff, one HGV driver and an office administrator, according to director Jacob Hoare.
"We are looking at employing a further driver and possibly a waste picker, but are waiting to see how the business performs over the coming days before we make a decision," he said.
Arun Waste Services customers will be contacted by SCS with further information.
