Plans have been submitted for the city's first branch of a popular chicken restaurant chain.

Pepe's Piri Piri wants to put up signage for a new restaurant in Lewes Road, Brighton, at the bottom of the recently opened Ravilious House building.

The chain, which opened its first store in London in 2004, now has 203 branches in the UK.

The Brighton restaurant will be the first in Sussex with the current closest nearly 30 miles away in Tunbridge Wells.

Pepe's recently announced that 11 new branches would open soon, including two in Edinburgh, one in Leeds and one in Birmingham.
