A lifestyle and clothes shop has opened its new store in the city centre.

Oliver Bonas moved four doors up North Street, Brighton, to fill the large unit left empty by Habitat last summer.

The shop has more than doubled its size in the move - the new space is 4,770 square feet.

Both units are part of the Hanningtons Estate where Oliver Bonas first opened in 2019 when it moved from its smaller Bond Street store.

Oliver Bonas has signed a ten-year lease on the new site.

In the larger store the brand will offer a wider range of its distinctive fashion, homeware, and gifts.

“We’re incredibly excited to open our new, larger store in Brighton,” said Oliver Tress, founder of Oliver Bonas.

“This beautiful new space allows us to showcase more of the products our customers love, in a setting that truly embodies the creativity and vibrancy of both our brand and the Brighton community. We can’t wait to welcome both new and returning customers to explore our expanded collections.”

With two floors of retail space, the store will feature dedicated areas for seasonal collections and new product launches, as well as a more spacious fitting rooms.

The unit, next to Watches of Switzerland, has been dubbed “one of the main entrances into Brighton’s Lanes” because it is on the corner of Meeting House Lane.

To celebrate the opening, Oliver Bonas will host a special event on Saturday, September 14, featuring a live DJ, complimentary refreshments, and exclusive in-store deals.

The opening follows the launch of Pure Seoul at the bottom of North Street, on the corner of East Street, earlier this week.

The Korean Beauty brand opened its first store in Brighton on Wednesday with hundreds queuing up North Street to be one of the first through the doors.

Claire Yeadon, asset manager at Redevco said: “Since acquiring the Hanningtons Estate in 2015, Redevco has invested heavily in the infrastructure, design and configuration of the shops on North Street. We have attracted major brands such as Joe & the Juice, Watches of Switzerland, Hotel Chocolat and Lulu Lemon.

"We’re delighted that Pure Seoul has joined us and that Oliver Bonas has thrived in this location and is more than doubling its space."
