A new burger inspired by a Sussex-made beer is coming to Brighton.
Honest Burgers has launched its latest special burger for its Duke Street restaurant and is inspired by Unbarred Brewery’s Joosy Pale Ale.
The beer will be used to braise onions on a bacon cheeseburger available from this week.
The Joosy beer is used to rehydrate the braised onions and provides a “rich and biscuity flavour” according to the burger restaurant.
The “Brighton 2.0” burger also includes a beef burger patty, candied bacon and double American cheese.
The burger, including a side, costs £15.20.
Joosy is the signature beer of Brighton brewery Unbarred which set up its first tap room in Elder Place in 2019.
The hazy pale ale is described as having “intense notes of citrus fruits, sweet tangerine and grapefruit” and is “packed with American hops”.
The brewery started in the garden shed of Hove resident Jordan Mower in 2014.
The brewery also grew to prominence by adapting to Coronavirus restrictions in 2020 and delivering drinks to people’s doors during lockdown.
