A dog who was hit by a car over a year ago and left with an irreparable leg is in desperate need of a loving home.

Mia, eight, has been in the care of the RSPCA for more than 18 months and is described as a friendly girl who loves a fuss.

She was rescued from Cyprus, where she was injured, by another charity and brought over to the UK where she was taken in by the RSPCA’s Mount Noddy Animal Centre in Chichester where she has been patiently waiting for her forever home.

Susan Botherway, centre manager, said: “When Mia was in Cyprus we understand she broke her leg - probably being hit by a car - and it was never treated so has never healed properly meaning she struggles with it sometimes.

“Unfortunately her leg is deteriorating so that’s why we’re searching for a permanent foster home for her - someone who can give her the love she deserves in a home environment while we continue to cover the costs of her pain relief to manage her leg.”

Mia is a collie-cross and has been with the RSPCA since March 2023. She is looking for a home locally so that the branch can continue to support her.

She loves to go on slow walks on the lead but can struggle due to her leg.

Susan added: “Mia is a really friendly girl who absolutely loves fuss. She’s been reserved multiple times but, sadly, has always been let down at the last moment and we’re so desperate to get her into a home.

“She does sometimes bark at new people but she wants to be your best friend and will curl up for cuddles with you as soon as she knows you and trusts you. She’s just chatty.

“She’s a really gentle, calm dog who would suit a home in a quiet area. She’s friendly with other dogs but sometimes barks at them.”
