An annual maize maze has had more than 10,000 visitors from all over the country this summer.
Cowdray’s Maize Maze in Easebourne near Petworth was open for August with visitors able to enjoy everything the estate had to offer.
Activities included stamp trails, a giant sunflower and wildflower picking patch and other entertainment for children.
After welcoming thousands for the summer, the maze closed on Sunday having offered events such as Run the Maze, Sunflower Yoga and cinema nights.
Located on the Cowdray Estate, overlooking the Lawns polo fields and Cowdray Ruins, the maze was planted over two hectares in the shape of a horse, plough and tractor.
Nick McDonald, the estate’s land and environment manager, said: “This year’s Maize Maze has been a resounding success.
“We were delighted to welcome people from far and wide who not only explored the maze but also enjoyed everything that Cowdray and Midhurst has to offer.”
The second series of Run the Seasons races take place this year and next across the estate giving runners the chance to run across changing landscape in autumn, winter, spring and summer. The first race will take place on October 12.
