A second boy has been arrested after a man was stabbed in front of a busy commuter train station. 

Emergency services were called to a report of a man found with a stab wound on the forecourt of Three Bridges Railway Station, in Crawley, last Wednesday at 3.25pm.

The victim, a 21-year-old man from Littlehampton, was taken to hospital, where he has since been discharged.

A 16-year-old boy from Bognor was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released on conditional bail, pending further enquiries.

Now, police have confirmed another 16-year-old boy from Crawley was arrested on August 30 on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has also been released on conditional bail.

Detective Inspector Gary Jacobs said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident and poses no threat to the wider public.

“We are appealing to any witnesses or anyone who may have been in the area at the time who could aid the investigation.”

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to report online or call 101 quoting 819 of 28/08.

Govia Thameslink confirmed that the train station in Haslett Avenue East was briefly evacuated following the incident.
