RNLI crews were called out to a yacht with a snapped mast.
Two lifeboats from Eastbourne attended the incident just before midday on Sunday in Eastbourne bay.
Two crew members boarded the sailing boat to assess the damage and people on board, one of who was suffering from severe sea sickness.

As the mast and sail were hanging over the side of the boat and dragging in the water, the rescue team cut the mast free.
The person suffering from seasickness was taken into the lifeboat and transported to the station for observation.
Meanwhile, the sailing boat was escorted into Sovereign Harbour before both lifeboats were stood down.
