A man required hospital treatment after being assaulted in a town centre in the early hours of the morning.

The 35-year-old was attacked just after 12.30am on Sunday, August 18, in East Parade which runs into George Street in Hastings.

Sussex Police say they are looking to identify four men and believe there were members of the public who witnessed the attack.

The force wants to speak to the four men in relation to the incident.

The first was wearing a dark navy blue T-shirt and the second was wearing a white T-shirt.

The third was wearing a baseball cap backwards. No description was released for the fourth man.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "Officers investigating believe there were members of the public present in the area at the time.

"They want anyone who saw what happened or those with relevant information such as CCTV, dashcam, doorbell and mobile phone footage to come forward.

"Information can be reported to Sussex Police online, quoting serial 72 of 18/08."
