Police have named a man who was fatally stabbed in a busy shopping area.
Billy Ripley was found with a stab wound in a shopping centre in Hailsham, near Eastbourne, but was declared dead by paramedics at the scene.
Now two people have been arrested in connection with the 20-year-old's death - including a 17-year-old boy. Both are said to be known to the victim.
Officers are continuing with their murder investigation after the incident in the Vicarage Field shopping centre on Thursday evening.
Much of the town centre was sealed off overnight and into Friday as detectives wearing white overalls combed the area for evidence. The shopping centre, high street and a nearby churchyard were among the places police were searching.
Two people have now been arrested in connection with Mr Ripley's death. A 17-year-old boy from Hellingly was put in cuffs after an extensive manhunt following the incident at around 6.20pm on Thursday.
A second woman, aged 21, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. The pair remain in custody this morning.
Specialist officers are supporting the family of Billy Ripley after being informed of his death.
Detective Chief Inspector Alex Campbell, who is leading the Operation Par investigation, said:
“We would once again like to express our sincere condolences to the family of the young man who has lost his life.
“They will continue to receive our full support while we search for answers.
“Our enquiries are ongoing, but we can confirm the individuals involved were known to each other.
“Additional officers have been out in the community to offer reassurance and that engagement will continue, with partner agencies, over the weekend.
“We are continuing to appeal for witnesses, or anyone who may have relevant video footage, to contact us."
Sussex Police have set up a new online portal for witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward.
The force launched its Major Incident Public Portal where witness statements, footage or other information can be uploaded.
People can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
