The Brighton Pride Dog Show due to be held on Saturday has been cancelled.
Organisers said the hot weather is a risk to the dogs, with temperatures set to reach over 23C on the day.
In a post shared on social media, a spokesman for the event said: "The weather is forecast to be extremely hot this weekend.

"After taking advice for the health and safety of our four-legged friends, we have regretfully taken the decision to cancel the Pride Dog Show.
"All entrants will be automatically refunded within the next few days. Apologies for any inconvenience."
The show was to take place on Saturday in Preston Park with owners and their dogs showing off their best skills and tricks.
It was scheduled to take place between noon and 5pm, with awards up for grabs including an award for the most stylish dog.
