A jazz festival filled with big name stars and local acts will return.
Brighton Festival returns for another year with four days of music from September 26-29 on the Brighton Palace Pier near Madeira Drive.
Thursday night features two contrasting saxophonists with Ronnie Scott’s regular Rachael Cohen bringing her quartet and young prodigy Sean Payne his.
On Friday the new generation of jazz take over with TJoe and the NBTM, and also the KNATS.
Saturday has the sole UK appearance this year from Patrick Bartley Jnr - famed as the number one sax man in Emmet Cohen’s legendary NYC sessions, now resident in Japan. Patrick will be accompanied by award-winning UK pianist Deschanel Gordon and his trio.
The critically acclaimed multi-generational QOW TRIO complete the evening's line-up.
Sunday sees Tim Garland and Jason Rebello renew their partnership, then UK jazz vocalist and local Claire Martin brings her all-star quartet to round off the festival.
There is a wealth of free-access daytime events on Saturday and Sunday showcasing the best of the vibrant local jazz scene.
