A row of garages will be demolished and replaced with homes.
Lewes and Eastbourne Councils has approved plans for five new properties to be built on the land behind Durham Court in Rockhurst Drive, Eastbourne.
Four of the homes will be two-bed and one will be three-bed, with each set to have its own rear garden, cycle storage and parking space.

The properties, accessed directly off Orkney Court, would also be of a "simple design" to match neighbouring homes in the area.
The proposals show the ground floor of these new homes will have a living room, dining area and kitchen with a bathroom and bedrooms upstairs.
In the plans, the applicant said the properties will bring "much needed housing to the town which is considerably short on housing targets."
The plans were approved on August 23.
