A Chinese takeaway has been given the second lowest food hygiene rating.

China Cottage in Wallace Parade, Goring Road, Worthing, was given a score of one following an inspection on July 17, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

A rating of one means major improvement is necessary.

The food safety inspector found hygienic food handling at the business was generally satisfactory but that major improvement was needed in the management of food safety.

Improvement was necessary in the cleanliness and the condition of facilities and building.
