A charity which supports blind veterans is celebrating its first year in its new home.
Blind Veterans UK’s Centre of Wellbeing in Rustington opened in 2023 and has been providing care, support, holidays and activity breaks for those who need it.
On September 7, the organisation will be hosting a fete and open day to mark the anniversary at the centre in Sea Lane from noon till 4pm.
Guests will be able to take a look around the venue, take part in activities and support a range of fundraising stalls including a tombola, raffle and crafts made by veterans.

Food will also be available from a “sausage sizzle” stall and an ice cream van.
Tammy Fleming, centre community engagement co-ordinator and fete organiser, said: “The support of the local business and community who have come forward with donations and vouchers for our fundraising activities has been absolutely amazing.
“It has really been incredible and we have some wonderful prizes to share at the fete. We rely on fundraising to support our blind veterans that live and visit our centre, so this generosity is especially touching.
“Please do come to the centre on September 7 – we would love to see you, show you around and share some fundraising fun with you.”
Blind Veterans was previously in Ovingdean but relocated after 80 years in the hilltop building.
