A new development of flats on the A259 is set to be completed by early next year.
The Kingston Wharf development in Brighton Road, Shoreham, will have 255 new homes.
These flats, which will be a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, will mainly be available through the Hyde shared ownership.

This means people will only own a share of the home to begin with.
Each flat will have a private balcony space, with half the flats set to overlook the river Adur and the sea beyond.
As well as the homes, a business centre and storage facility will be built at the site.
This will be along with flood defences, podium gardens, play areas, landscaping, seating, and cycle parking.
There will also be a cycling and walking area along the river for residents to enjoy.
The new development is just one of many being built across Shoreham at the moment, including the Wharf 21 flats along the same road.
These shared-ownership homes by Southern Housing are set to be ready by the end of the year.
Construction has also begun at the former Frosts site in Brighton Road, Shoreham, with hundreds of homes set to be built on the land.
