People are being warned to take "significant caution" when buying tickets for a proposed children's event.
Brighton and Hove City Council has put out a warning after a company advertisement on Facebook about an inflatable park event stated to be on the Victoria Recreation Ground, Portslade, next month.
The council said the company, that has gone by the name The Big Jump - Inflatable Park, has not approached the council for permission to host the event on the land, which is council-owned.

The council is now advising people to be cautious before buying tickets.
A spokesman for Brighton and Hove City Council said: "This is not an event which we have given permission for or indeed even been approached by anyone to discuss the possibility of it taking place.
"We would therefore advise significant caution on the part of anyone considering purchasing tickets."
The owner of a similar inflatable park event has claimed the pictures being used to advertise this Portslade event are his and are being misused.
Angus Pedrick, owner of Inflatable Theme Park, said: "These are my photos from my events in Portishead and Reading.
"They don't own this equipment or the insurance for it."
The warning comes just a day after a councillor in Southend, Essex, warned residents about an event that was advertised under the same name.
This was after residents in Essex who had purchased tickets claimed they had not received them.
Ian Gilbert, Labour Southend councillor responsible for regulatory services, said: "We are aware of an event that was being advertised locally as ‘The Big Jump Inflatable Park'.
"The council has not been approached about a booking or approved this event in Southend."
Both the Southend event and Brighton event are no longer being advertised on The Big Jump - Inflatable Park Facebook page.
An event in Ipswich is still being advertised by the company.
The Argus has approached The Big Jump - Inflatable Park for comment however was blocked by the organiser.
