Eastbourne-based Broadband provider, Lightning Fibre, extends Full Fibre offering to Brighton and Hove, Worthing and Lancing.
Full Fibre network operator and Internet Service Provider Lightning Fibre, founded in Eastbourne in 2018, has turned its attention to Brighton and Hove, Worthing and Lancing.
Lightning Fibre started rolling out ‘fibre to the premises’ (fttp) in Eastbourne, Hailsham, Hastings and Heathfield back in 2020, and can now connect homes in Brighton and Hove, Worthing and Lancing to a lightning-fast symmetric Full Fibre broadband network.
The switch from old copper wires to Full Fibre Optic broadband networks is a key focus of the Government’s Digital Britain initiative and will define the competitiveness of our economy and change dramatically the way we live our lives. Full Fibre will eventually enable the copper network - which is slow and unreliable - to be retired from service entirely across the UK.
Lightning Fibre has created 150 local jobs and improved the connectivity of thousands of homes and businesses. The company takes a ‘community-centric’ approach, supporting local charities, events and good causes. It was named the Best Consumer ISP by the Internet Service Providers' Association in November 2023.
To mark the arrival of the company in Brighton and Hove, Lightning Fibre’s CCO Rob Reaks and marketing assistant Emmaline Pollard dropped 138 feet from the iconic i360 to raise over £1300 for Rockinghorse Children’s Charity on 21st October.
Amanda Hetherington, senior corporate engagement manager at Rockinghorse commented, “As a charity we support The Royal Alex Children’s Hospital and The Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton, and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex. Since 1967, we have supported nearly a million children with lifesaving medical equipment, support for families, environments and spaces for children and additional staff.
What a way to celebrate the launch of Lightning Fibre in Brighton and Hove! Thank you, Lightning Fibre.”
Rob Reaks, Lightning Fibre’s chief commercial officer, added, “Full Fibre is the fastest and most reliable broadband technology available, and new networks will bring long-term benefits to consumers in terms of price and choice. We have thousands of happy customers, with an ‘excellent’ 4.8-star Trustpilot rating, in part due to our outstanding customer service team based in Eastbourne. Customers are increasingly choosing a local provider, rather than using a national, mainstream provider, because they understand this benefits their community - through local job creation, event sponsorship and charitable support.
We are delighted to offer our amazing value broadband and outstanding customer service to customers in Brighton and Hove, Worthing and Lancing.”
To address the ‘digital divide’, Lightning Fibre provides a special ‘social tariff’ for households in receipt of means-tested benefits, delivering Full Fibre broadband for just £15 a month on a rolling monthly contract, with no credit check required, ensuring that more people can access this new, affordable technology.
What makes this broadband network even more attractive is that the company does not impose unfair ‘mid contract’ price hikes, so you can sign up safe in the knowledge that your price per month will not change for two years!
Lightning Fibre is based in Eastbourne, with a local customer service telephone team available every day from 8am to 8pm and is rated excellent on Trustpilot.
