A motorhome has been moved off a prime spot after being warned by the council to leave.

The motor home was driven onto the middle of the grass in Regency Square, Brighton, on Saturday evening and was there until Tuesday morning.

Brighton and Hove City Council issued a notice that instructed the motorhome owner to leave after residents had complained to the council’s parking enforcement team.

The motorhome was driven away after being parked on the green for over two days, after those in it enjoyed the summer weather as the awning and sun loungers were brought out too.

A resident, who wanted to remain anonymous, said : "Legally parked vehicles were now on the street completely surrounding the square and hemming in the motor home on all sides,"

Another resident said the people who parked on the grass were “entitled”.

Councillor Trevor Muten cabinet member for transport, parking and public realm said: “Clearly this vehicle should not have been parked where it was.

“Our team investigated and a notice was issued instructing the vehicle’s owner to leave, which we understand they now have.”
