A preschool has improved its provision from inadequate to good.
Findon Village Preschool in Worthing, High Street, was rated inadequate by Ofsted in January due to “breaches in safeguarding and welfare requirements”.
Enforcement action was taken by the education regulator and in a subsequent inspection on July 2, the preschool’s good rating was restored.
The report reads: “The manager and staff have worked tirelessly to meet all actions raised at the last inspection.
“For example, all staff, including the designated safeguarding lead, have completed safeguarding training.

“They now have a secure understanding of any signs that a child may be at risk of harm.”
According to the report, the preschool has implemented an “open and positive culture around safeguarding that puts children's interests first” and “supports all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, to make good progress”.
Children are also said to arrive at the preschool “full of happiness and enthusiasm to start their day” and “a range of activities and experiences” are planned for them.
To continue to improve, Ofsted said the provider should further implement the new curriculum and focus on children’s next steps while managing daily routines to ensure children’s needs are consistently met.
The preschool was established in 1992 and caters for children aged between two and four.
