A town will get a new sports pavilion on a former children's play area.
Adur and Worthing Council has approved Lancing Parish Council’s plans for the new facility on Monks Recreation Ground in Crabtree Lane.
The new building will have changing and shower facilities, toilets, including disabled facilities, first aid, storage, a public cafe and toilets to the ground floor.
On the first floor will be a storage area, office space for Lancing Parish Council and further toilets.
The site was previously used as a children's play area which is now located to the north of the park.
The new building will be sited on a strip of land sandwiched between Sussex County Football Association football ground and the cluster of buildings on the junction of Culver Road and North Road.

The recreation ground has no on-site parking provision for the public and no new parking was proposed in the plans.
Garrick Architects in planning documents said: “The design and location is sympathetic to the site and addresses the need for changing facilities to serve the existing football pitches and also provides a desired park café and toilets to serve the local community.
“The proposal is deemed acceptable in accordance with the relevant planning policies. It is also felt to be a sustainable development located on a previously used site and a now redundant children’s play area.”
