A council has issued a warning to wind surfers in a bid to protect swimmers.
Adur District and Worthing Borough Councils have asked wind surfers to stop going into designated swimming areas.
The council has received reports of wind surfers in the designated areas which are marked by yellow buoys with “swim area” written on them.
There are swim areas at Lancing Beach Green, Shoreham beach and Southwick beach.

A spokesman for the councils said: “While it’s great to see so many people enjoying the water, we need to remind anyone participating in kite sports, as well as angling, that they cannot go into our seasonal swim areas.
“They are clearly denoted by yellow buoys with 'swim area' stencilled on them and are in place to help protect swimmers. Please don't invade their safe space."
The council has advised that any breaches of the rule should be reported to the coastal office team on 01903 238977.
