New apartments could be built on the site of former law courts.

Eastbourne Borough Council has put forward plans for a part three, part four-storey block to be built on a vacant brownfield site in Old Orchard Road, Eastbourne.

The building would house 30 flats in total.

These would be a mix of one and two-bedroom homes, with 40 per cent of these marketed as affordable housing.

Two of the ground-floor flats would be designed to be fully accessible with their own private parking.

The rest of the development would be car free with space for up to 70 bikes to be stored.

Each of the homes would have a private balcony or patio space, with communal gardens available for all residents.

These will have space for seating, plants and a clothes drying area.

Eastbourne Borough Council will decide whether to approve the plans by October 24.
