A former model toy and gift shop in a busy high street is set to undergo significant changes.
In new plans submitted to Adur District Council, the first and second floors of Shore Nostalgia in Shoreham will be converted into a one-bedroom flat.
The empty retail unit on the ground floor and basement level will remain as a shop floor for future business use.

The proposals state that the existing shop entrance would be used for access to the new flat, with a partition installed to separate it from the shop.
The existing staircase will be replaced and the first floor will become home to an open plan living room and kitchen space, with a small shower room attached.
The second floor will be used as a bedroom.
RJA Planning and Building Consultants Ltd, on behalf of the applicant Kingsbury Estate, said: "The proposal is to retain and modernise the ground floor retail unit thus providing a welcome addition to the High Street shopping experience, with the addition of a self-contained one bedroomed flat providing much needed living accommodation."
The plans were approved by the council on Monday.
