Holland and Barrett is relocating to a long-disused city centre unit.
Signs promoting the new health and wellbeing store have popped up in Western Road, Brighton, as the business currently based in North Street prepares to move into its new home.
Works are ongoing at the new location opposite Ann Summers and banners say it will be “coming soon”.
The unit has long been vacant since clothing store Select closed in 2020.
Before that, it was home to Esprit until 2015.
The new store will be Holland and Barrett’s third store in Brighton and Hove. The other two are located in Churchill Square shopping centre and George Street in Hove.
Doubts had been raised about the future of the North Street store after the unit was listed as “to let” earlier this year.
Described as being in a “prime location” with high levels of footfall, the 2,800 square foot shop is currently being listed at £10,333.33 per month.
No new tenant has currently been identified for the North Street unit, The Argus understands.
A spokeswoman for Holland and Barrett confirmed that the new Western Road store would be replacing the North Street site, adding that the brand is “really excited” about a new look store.
No opening date has currently been set for the site, but the store is expected to open later this year.
The news comes after Ann Summers, opposite the new store in Western Road, also confirmed it would be staying in the city after "to let" signs appeared above its unit.
