July was a bumper month with dozens of entries submitted for our camera club competition.
It made the job of choosing the winner even harder than usual.
We gave our intrepid camera club snappers a broad theme of “circles” and were very pleased to see the range of creative ways it was interpreted.
Nicola Cunningham’s classic shot of the big wheel in Worthing was great and we loved how she also captured its reflection in the water.
Others used circles to frame their shots, like Karen Crossley-Talbot who found a wicker window in Arundel and pictured the peaceful reedbeds behind it.

Double points go to Louise Yates who got lots of circles in her shot of “that Bubble Dude” at the West Pier.
We also loved Kevin Brighton’s brilliant captureof the Flight of the Langoustine statue on Hove seafront.
He caught the statue against a dramatic sunset and full moon which, from the framing of the shot, looks like it has been thrown by one of the figures.
But it was Phil Stacey’s creative snap of a circular structure at the new development in Brighton’s Circus Street which takes the crown with its clever use of monochrome to contrast the building with the sky.
Phil wins £50.
August’s theme is "weird and wonderful". Post your entry on The Argus Camera Club Facebook page, mentioning where it was taken. It is one entry per person and the deadline is midnight on August 31. As always, the winner will receive a £50 prize. Good luck.
