Two parks have been upgraded to promote healthy and active lifestyles.
Angmering has benefited from two projects funded by Arun District Council’s allocation of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund allows local authorities to fund projects that improve their constituencies. It was awarded by the previous government and is a three-year scheme that runs from 2022 until 2025.
The funding bid of £7,500 was awarded to the council to complete the projects.
The projects which are designed to improve infrastructure for cycling and walking, have been delivered in Russet Park and Mayflower Park.
Russet Park has seen cycle repair stations installed along with cycle racks next to the play area, with Mayflower Park having additional benches and cycle racks.
Councillor Nikki Hamilton-Street chairwoman of Angmering Parish Council said: “We were delighted to be in receipt of this funding. Angmering Parish Council recently provided a new £130,000 refurbishment at Russet Play Area adjacent to the Community Centre.
“Enhancing the amenities on offer at Mayflower Park with bike racks and benches will support residents to cycle around the village, participate in activities in both areas and enjoy the open spaces more.”
