People have been urged not to swim in a harbour entrance over fears people in the water could be overpowered by strong currents.
Littlehampton RNLI warned people on World Drowning Prevention Day on Thursday to stay away from swimming in Littlehampton Harbour.
This is because of the strong currents in the area.

Swimmers were also advised to visit lifeguarded beaches only and to swim between the designated flags for extra safety.
A spokesman for the Littlehampton RNLI team said: "Today marks World Drowning Prevention Day and the RNLI is reminding everyone heading to the coast at any time to visit a lifeguarded beach and swim between the red and yellow flags.
"Littlehampton Harbour has particularly strong currents that easily overpower anyone swimming near the harbour entrance - it is best to stay safe and keep well clear of the area."
Anyone in an emergency at sea should dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.
