A Sussex hotelier is thrilled to have been crowned boutique hotel owner of the year.

Helen Pomery, who co-directs Tottington Manor, in Edburton Road, near Henfield, won the prize at Acquisition International Magazine’s Influential Businesswoman Awards.

The awards are given on merit and are given to commend those for hard work, distinguishing them from their competitors and proving them worthy of recognition, Acquisition International Magazine said.

Helen said she has worked "tirelessly" and was very pleased to be recognised with the Boutique Hotel and Restaurant Owner of the Year.

“All of the dedicated staff, my fellow directors at Tottington Manor and I have worked tirelessly to see our vision for the hotel come to life, and I am very pleased it is being recognised.”

Earlier this year, the hotel featured on Channel 4’s Four In A Bed.

Close friends Philip Fossey co-directors and Helen, said they had "the best time" filming the Channel 4 show.

Their four-star hotel was scrutinised by other hoteliers and B&B owners who they hosted as part of the programme.

They said: "We had the absolute best time filming and met some amazing people with successful businesses.”
