A pool and two lidos in Sussex have been named as part of the top 20 in Britain.

The Telegraph has released a list of the best outdoor pools in the country as we are still waiting for summer to properly start.

Arundel Lido in West Sussex was named due to its good-sized outdoor pool dating from the 1960s, which affords nice views of Arundel Castle.

The lido has recently received a funding boost as part of a swimming pool support fund by the government.

Pells Pool in Lewes believed to be the oldest freshwater pool in the country, dating back to the 1860s, also made the top 20. It is not heated and it can be an ideal place to escape the heat.

Saltdean Lido near Brighton was another from Sussex to be named on the list - It reopened in 2018 following a long period of neglect.

After nearly being demolished, it was instead restored and is now the only Grade II-listed coastal lido in the country.

The Lido is also offering free swim vouchers under the Brighton and Hove swimming scheme. This will qualify people who are 18 or under to free swimming lessons.
