Brighton and Hove is a city full of surprises.

Famed for its beautiful Regency architecture, it can be easy to forget about the modern tower blocks which have shot up all over the city.

Camera Club snapper Phil Stacey made it his mission to capture these forgotten areas and produced this fabulous series of shots from the New England Quarter, which bridges the gap between the railway station and the hustle and bustle of London Road.

Despite its central location, Phil managed to capture it on a peaceful Sunday when much of it was deserted.

He snapped the symmetry of the new build flats and their angular balconies and some moody black and white shots of eerily quiet back streets.

The glass windows of the new flats reflected brilliant blue skies and showed the impressive scale of the towering blocks.

Phil also captured the contrast of the glass Leonardo Hotel building against the green space and planting beside it.

In another shot, Phil snapped the flats in Elder Place from a low angle.
