Pebbles painted with messages of kindness are brightening up a village.
Decorated stones are scattered in and around Hassocks as part of an art project by the First Hassocks Beavers along the lines of the "kindness rocks" project.
This is a viral trend, which gained momentum in the US, in which young people paint pebbles or stones with inspirational messages and leave them for others to find and collect.
Clive Gravett from the Budding Foundation charity, which has been involved in the donation and sharing of the pebbles for decorating, said: “We were delighted to donate the pebbles together with Tates of Sussex at South Downs Nurseries."
The charity, formed in 2013, raises funds to improve the lives of young people in Sussex as well as funding group gardening projects.
