A giant yellow ribbon was unfurled on the seafront in a bid to get Israeli hostages to be released as talks continue on peace in the Middle East.
The 50-metre-long ribbon was unveiled on Hove Lawns this weekend as relatives of hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza shared the “pain and unbearable waiting” they face.
It comes as peace talks continue over Israel’s offensive in Gaza, with hopes that the talks will see some of the hostages released.
Adam Ma’anit, whose cousin Tsachi Idan is among the hostages, said: “We came together to say that what happens to the hostages should be as prominent as this giant ribbon. We cannot let them be forgotten.
“We have been nine months without our loved ones. The world must do everything it can to bring them home now.”
The yellow ribbon was put on display on Hove Lawns on Sunday, with organisers saying they want to “show the size of our love and support” as the conflict in the Middle East continues.
Campaigners have previously held vigils in the city for those killed in the October 7 attacks.
Peace talks continue to try and bring an end to Israel’s attacks on Gaza and offensives against Hamas.
