New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 11 of Brighton and Hove’s establishments.

Pubs, cafes and a pizza place in the city have recently received high ratings from the Food Standards Agency.

The ratings are about businesses’ hygiene standards rather than the quality of the food and whether it is nice or not.

Here are the latest food hygiene ratings in Brighton and Hove:

• Rated 5: Stir Fry CK Bistro at 3 George Street, Hove; rated on June 26

• Rated 4: Meating Point at 1b Pelham Street, Brighton; rated on June 12

• Rated 4: No 13 Coffee at 13 Lewes Road, Brighton; rated on June 12

• Rated 4: The Avenue at 56 - 58 St James's Street, Brighton; rated on June 12

• Rated 5: The Hollingbury PH at 1 Roedale Road, Brighton; rated on June 29

• Rated 5: Fillets Fish And Chips at 45 Lewes Road, Brighton; rated on July 11

What the ratings mean:

There are six ratings from 0 to 5.

5 - Hygiene standards are very good

4 – Hygiene standards are good

3 – Hygiene standards are generally satisfactory

2 – Some improvement is necessary

1 – Major improvement is necessary

0 – Urgent improvement is required
