Owl season has started at a nature reserve with broods of owlets hatching.
Wild barn and tawny owls nesting at the WWT Arundel Wetland Centre have successfully hatched their offspring - and this year a special owl is paying the location a visit.
Wardens found four barn owl babies in a nest at the end of June and ringed two of them so they can be identified. One of the remaining two birds had already fledged and the other is believed to have been eaten by an older sibling.
The wardens have also spotted two tawny owlets in trees along the edge of the car park while conducting bat surveys at night.
But the star owl at the site is Fowler, a sculpture which is part of a 30-strong trail across Arundel and Chichester to raise money for Chestnut Tree House children's hospice.
The Big Hoot trail is the first free art trail in Chichester, with each owl decorated by a different artist. It runs until September 1.
