The best and worst GP surgeries in Sussex, according to patients, have been revealed.
Northiam Surgery in Rye finished top in the county in the latest NHS patient survey with 98.8 per cent of people saying they had an overall positive experience.
It also placed top in last year’s survey.
Meanwhile The Avenue Surgery in Brighton received the lowest overall positive experience percentage with 36.4 per cent.
It received the highest percentage for overall negative experience at 46.1 per cent.
The survey, which was recorded between January 2 and March 25 this year, asked residents for their views on their doctors' surgeries across a range of different areas, including the ease of contacting the surgery by phone, the helpfulness of receptionists and whether they could see their preferred GP.
Around 2.56 million questionnaires were sent out to patients aged 16 or over registered with GP practices in England. Some 699,790 patients completed and returned a questionnaire, resulting in a national response rate of 27.3 per cent.
Nationally, 73.9 per cent of patients had a good overall experience of their GP practice.
Northiam Surgery received a 100 per cent score for the ease of getting in touch with the practice via phone and 98 per cent of people said its receptionists were helpful.
Some 80 per cent of people said it was not easy to get through to The Avenue Surgery via phone and 47.6 per cent said the receptionists were not helpful.
The number of surveys completed varies from surgery to surgery and does not represent every patient who is registered at any one centre.
