A woman has been seriously injured after being hit by a minibus.

Elm Grove, Brighton, remains closed while emergency services investigate the incident, which happened just before 9am.

Sussex Police said a pedestrian has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by the vehicle.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision involving a pedestrian and a minibus in Brighton.

The driver of the minibus was uninjured, police said.

Drivers have been advised to avoid the area.

“The road is currently closed in both directions for investigation and drivers are asked to avoid the area or follow the diversion,” a Sussex Police spokesman said.

Sergeant Stacey Ellott said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage of the collision or from any witnesses who saw what happened.”
