A car came off the road and crashed into a ditch.

Firefighters attended the incident in Goring Road, Worthing, this morning.

A West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said the car’s passengers were able to get out of the vehicle before firefighters arrived.

Police and paramedics also attended the incident.

"At 10.47am we responded to a road traffic collision at Goring Road, Worthing,” she said.

"Joint fire control mobilised two fire engines and a heavy rescue tender from Worthing to the scene.

"Upon arrival firefighters found that a car had come off the road into a ditch. Fortunately, all persons were able to leave the car, prior to the arrival of the fire service.

"Firefighters made the scene safe and left the scene at around 11.20am.

"Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service were also in attendance."
