A fast food restaurant has closed for good.

KFC in Blatchington Road, Hove, shut last week and a sign on the door says it has gone into administration.

The branch was run by the franchise Caskade which has gone under.

More than 50 KFCs in the south of England were operated by Caskade.

Existing KFC franchisee Adil Group has acquired 40 of the fast food restaurants formerly run by Caskade, but the Blatchington Road one has not been acquired.

This means Adil Group now runs 73 KFC restaurants across the country.

A spokesman for KFC said: "We’re constantly reviewing our portfolio of over 1,000 restaurants and from time to time that means some may close. Fans of our famous chicken can still get their delicious KFC from our nearby Western Road, Brighton restaurant, which is still open for dine-in and delivery."

It comes after the KFC in Uckfield's Bell Lane shut its doors at the end of June.

Customers shared their surprise at the shock closure, saying it was "unannounced".
