A barbecue beach bar has taken over the site of a former restaurant.

Salt Shed has launched its second restaurant in the city in the unit previously occupied by Murmur in King’s Road Arches, Brighton.

The new site, called Salt Shed at the West Pier, joins the company’s location in Church Street, Brighton.

Salt Shed also has a pop-up in Box Park, Shoreditch, and delivery pop-up in Herne Hill, London.

Customers can expect dishes including BBQ glazed pastrami steak, burgers, mac and cheese, chips and a range of house sauces from burnt butter mayo to mint and garlic chimichurri.

The company said: “Salt Shed at the West Pier is a sun trap beach bar on the iconic Brighton seafront. We are going back to our roots to offer our greatest selection of barbecue dishes and drinks that we have served since 2017 from trading in markets, food halls and restaurants in London and Brighton.”

Murmur was set up by Brighton chef Michael Bremner in 2017, four years after opening 64 degrees in Meeting House Lane, Brighton.

Murmur closed earlier this year.
