Goodwood’s Festival of Speed has caused traffic chaos with severe delays for motorists in its first two days.
The AA reported severe delays reaching 30 minutes yesterday, July 11, and today, July 12, on the A27 in Chichester.
Commuters were impacted by the traffic on the Chichester Bypass, with congestion building from 7am and having mostly cleared by midday.
Roads are closed for the Festival of Speed, which started on Thursday and ends this Sunday.
Claypit Lane, a section of New Road, Pook Lane and a section of Kennel Hill have been shut for the event.
The annual event, hosted by the Goodwood Estate, showcases vehicles including Formula 1 cars from the past and present, Moto GP motorbikes and cars spanning the history of motorsport.
Big names in the motorsports world such as Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso will be attending, with a range of cars running on alternate fuels including electric and hydrogen powered vehicles also being highlighted.
The Red Arrows attended the event yesterday, July 11, and returned today, July 12.
