New council homes that are being built on the site of a former car park are progressing.

Adur District Council said it has made significant progress on the seven new homes in South Street, Lancing.

The frames and rood coverings of the homes are now complete, with the windows installed.

A spokesman for Adur District Council said: "We’re using modern, sustainable construction techniques to create these new council houses for Adur families who would otherwise be homeless.

"We hope the first citizens will be able to move there in January 2025."

The development is part of council plans to replace old garage compounds and underused sites with homes for families in need in Sompting, Lancing, Shoreham, Southwick and Fishersgate.

These homes will be occupied by people on the Adur District Council housing waiting list.
