An independent South Indian restaurant is celebrating ten years in The Lanes with a new menu.

Curry Leaf Cafe, in Ship Street, Brighton, a restaurant serving street food and beers, is marking a decade in business by launching a new culinary venture serving Indian burgers with a twist - under a new brand called Bombay Burger Club.

Initially available only on home-delivery platform Deliveroo, Bombay Burger Club will now be available at the restaurant.

The burgers are made with brioche buns filled with Indian street food including Keralan fried chicken, fiery chilli paneer cheese, spiced lamb patties and tandoor-grilled meats.

All burgers come topped with salad, crispy brown onions and sev noodles, as well as a range of chutneys.

Euan Sey, co-founder of Curry Leaf Cafe, said: "While we’ve enjoyed playing around with the format of the dishes at Curry Leaf Cafe, the flavours have always been quite traditional and authentic.

“With Bombay Burger Club on the other hand, we’re free to do pretty much anything we like – which is a fun tenth birthday present to ourselves.

“The feedback from diners was so positive that we added a couple more, and eventually decided to use them as the basis for a completely new takeaway sub-brand.

“We’ve had a lot of fun putting the menu together, and can’t wait for people to try it.

“Almost half of the burgers are vegan, and for extra feelgood factor, diners will be supporting an independent Brighton restaurant and its suppliers, nearly all of whom are based in Sussex.”
